New players will often find that sit and go tournaments are the best way to learn the game and start building a bankroll. Now it is true that sit and go tournaments are not so easy as they once were where more and more players are adopting a tight-aggressive style which is hard to battle against, especially if you are playing the same way. So here is a new player, and some responses to our poker forum that is strategizing the best way to carry this out.

Using Tournament Indicator on a Mac PDF Print E-mail

If you own a Mac, you may have been one of the many poker players that has contacted me over the last few years asking about 3rd party software that can be used on the Mac platform. The sad news of course is that these programs are few and far between. There just doesn't seem to be enough of a demand for programmers to invest in such efforts to not only get a version of their software running on a Mac, but keeping it updated properly whenever a Mac-compatible site like Full Tilt Poker decides to update their software.

When discussing poker probability scenarios, the concept has often been described as the simple experiment of coin tossing. Of course poker probability is certainly more complex with regards to understanding deeper game theory, but once you understand probability in general, you will be able to apply (at least with some practice) the poker probability of let's say your 2-outer landing on the river.

Duplicate outs and the skill card. PDF Print E-mail

The skill card is the last card on the flop in hold'em, more commonly referred to as fifth street or the river card. Calling it the skill card is something players do when multiple hands are turned over, and somebody basically needs to get lucky. In order to win, the player behind must hit one of his outs to win the pot. Usually the outs are outnumbered by the cards that can come that favor the leader.

If you have played sit and go tournaments online (if not, why not?), you have likely also used Sharkscope at one point or another. They have a free 5 day search limited, and pretty much unlimited paid version for about $10 a month. One of it's best researching features, is that you can cue up any of your opponents and graphically see what their sit and go performance has been to date.Once looking at a graph, I can tell you a LOT about any particular player, and this is information you can take right to the table. Here is a bit about Sharkscope and profiling characteristics.

Do you have the same challenges with AK as this player? - I’ve recently installed Hold Em Manager, one of the supposedly best poker software out there and I do agree, but now that I’ve played with it quite a while, I noticed an anomaly, or is it an anomaly if it’s backed up by the software’s data?

I Love the Tournament Indicator poker software as it is really helping my tournament game, but I do have a question for you Marty. When you hit a flop, it combines all of the cards that "help your hand" and gives you the pot odds. Fine, I like that, but, I do find sometimes that there are cards that will "help my hand", but that I dont see as outs.

Poker calculator review quotes:

"You would think with guys like Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey tossing it up on Full Tilt every night with hundreds of thousands of dollars at Omaha tables there would be a demand for such an enormous product, but outside of the two big sites, Omaha tournaments are rather thin. That being said, next to hold'em it is the choice of games and is a natural step for players to expand their skill and game repertoire. So from here, it only has UP to go." - from Omaha Indicator
