These are typical stats for winning cash game players as noted by Phdrs in the poker forum. The players tab on HM lets you do this. You don't get nearly as many hands, but the hands you do get gives you a lot more information. I tend to use a minimum sample size of 5K hands. On my NL100 data base, that returns 33 players. You can sort by bb/100 and look at the main stats of your to 5 to 10 players, which in my DB shows pretty similar sorts of ranges.
If you sort by a specific stats, say 3bet, The bottom right window gives you range distribution with median WR. So for example in my DB, this is what that report looks like
2.7 to 3.6 median win rate = -1.57 3.7 to 5 median win rate = -1.63 5.2 to 5.6 median win rate = 3.98 5.7 to 7.1 median win rate = 2.71 7.4 to 8.6 median win rate = 1.07
There are 6 different report types you can run, which all show different stats.
If you want to drill down deeper, you can pick your top say 5 players, and then select that player as the default player in your DB. Now you can run all your position reports etc on that player (except if you have purged hands as part of DB management in which case you won't have any hand histories unless they were hands played against you).
Anyway its a pretty valuable exercise. In the case of my NL100 db, it really does show that all of the winning players are playing a pretty similar game which looks something like this
VPIP = 19-22 PFR = 15-21 3 bet = 5 to 8 Post flop Agg = 2.5 -3 W$WSF = 41-48 WTSD% = 25-30 W$atSD = 49 - 55 Flop Cbet = 50 to 60 Turn Cbet = 50 to 60 Riv cbet = 50 to 60 Fold to flop Cbet = 50 to 60 Fold to turn Cbet = 35 to 50 (but a wider distribution here) Fold to riv Cbet = 25 - 40 (wider dist. also)
Not all of the winning players are exactly within all of those ranges, but that sort of describes most of them for most stats
You can then do the same thing sorting by losing players and compare the differences.
In my data set the losing players have PF Agg either lower or higher than the winning player ranges, and they are folding to a river Cbet a lot more often. As a result of these two differences, they are also showing a much lower percentage of W$WSF.
When you have 5K hands on someone, they are a reg, so their stats are not going to be ridiculous, but my losing regs biggest problem, based on that range of stat analysis is that they are either too aggressive or not aggressive enough. They are going too far into the hand with weak hands and then folding at the end rather than folding or raising earlier in the hand. Clearly, calling as many flop and turn Cbets as the winning regs, but then folding on the river 40 to 60% of the time is going to be costing them dearly. |
