A subscriber writes about his doubts of Full Tilt's Randon Number generator:
Hi there, I see you have written a few things on Full Tilt Poker's RNG online. What do you really make of the place, I just simply cannot understand the RNG at all.

I've played there on and off since Feb '08 and yesterday (logged well over 250,000 hands in total) I finally removed all my funds for good. I am a winning player in the small stakes cash games on other sites where I've played the last 3 months but have never logged a winning month at FTP.
Hadn't played there for about 3 months, put $500 on to give the site a go yesterday, just to see if I could change it round, after all, 27% rakeback and plenty of table availability 24/7 make it a potentially great place to play.
Within ten hands I get AA vs KK vs JJ- 3 way all in pre flop, jack makes the set. Just checked my stats and in the last 6,000 hands on Boss Media I haven't been involved in an AA vs KK hand, seen a couple, but never been part of it, never mind with JJ in the mix too!
I played 1,100 hands in total today and was bad beat no less than 5 times in that time for full 100BB stacks- had KK all in on the turn vs a gut shot...which hit, I won't bore you with the others.
What worries me more than anything regards this site is the sheer number of players who will happily call all ins for 100BB stacks with gut shots draws and other similar crap that even bad players wouldn't really consider making...
The odd maniac will do this on other sites but on FTP it seems there are a higher number of players who will just gamble all in on 4 outers, I just don't see how they are human players, or unless they know something we don't.
My worst observation of the site is pokerEV has me running to expected on all ins, and I believe that to be true. The site is developed in a way that hands will hold up- so you may win 5/5 sets vs flush draws, and therefore be considered to be running well.
Where FTP stings people is the days when bad beats strike in succession in such a small sample of hands, a day will come withing the space of 2,000 hands where you will make numerous monster nut hands only to be cruelly rivered and bad beat again and again and again.
I honestly believe this is set up to make people tilt, and I know a few winning players like myself who have graphs that show normal results then one ridiculous downswing in a span of 2,000-10,000 hands where everything feels set up, nothing can win in an all in and it results in people losing everything on mega tilt.
Bad sessions occur both online and live, but nothing can compare to FTP when it is your day to lose and unless you run a bot I believe it is impossible for a human player not to tilt on the site- to take 5 bad beats in succession should be a once a month occurrence at the very most, it shouldn't happen every time you take a seat at the table...
It really amazes me why people keep playing, I am truly done with the site now though.
I also read your blogs etc, great to get in touch with you.

Online poker hasn't really been around for too long, maybe a decade or so, but as soon as it was, clever programmers were thinking about designing poker tools that could not only produce a winning edge for a player, but stretch the meaning of fair play.
Well the best poker software tools have survived an era of audacious claims made by many fly-by-nighters. Poker software like Poker Tracker, Holdem Manager and Tournament Indicator have achieved real staying and power market share largely due to following the rules set out by online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, yet they have displayed evidence of creating clear advantages for those who use the tracking software.
