Poker Stars is a normally reliable provider when it comes to updating their poker software, but today's update seems a little out of character for the pre-Black Friday poker giant. BryanS the resident PokerStars communicator that basically hangs out at 2+2 all day, reported in that forum that the latest software update has a major issue which prevents proper operation of the poker software.
Rather than saying there will be a fix for the issue coming soon, he starts to explain what the user needs to do inorder to work around the fix which is one of two things. The first suggestion is to sett your computer's system time and date back one full day. Then you must do the update, and then fix your system time again. I don't know about you, but I have so much other software on my computer, that I do not like friggin around with the system time.
The other suggestion he makes is to uninstall PokerStars completely, but save copies of certain notes files that you may have accumulated on opponents. I dont like this either. I might just wait for fix on the fix. As one 2+2er rephrased the opening post, he says "The easiest way to correct this issue is...... fix the update."

Online poker hasn't really been around for too long, maybe a decade or so, but as soon as it was, clever programmers were thinking about designing online poker software tools that could not only produce a winning edge for a player, but stretch the meaning of fair play.
Well the best poker software tools have survived an era of audacious claims made by many fly-by-nighters. Poker software like Poker Tracker, Holdem Manager and Tournament Indicator have achieved real staying and power market share largely due to following the rules set out by online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, yet they have displayed evidence of creating clear advantages for those who use the tracking software.
