This poker software is in BETA still so I understand that some things may not work perfectly, however, I could not get the software to work at all, and this after a 20 minute installation process. So far, it's a clear #FAIL.

The software was launched as a BETA available only for PokerStars software. Or so they say. I went through the launch process and was dissapointed right from the start as it forces PC owners to also download yet another version of that horrid Microsoft.NET platform which the software relies upon. I was actually shocked at the download size being more than 52MB compared to Holdem Indicator which was under 5MB. Good luck multi-tabling with PokerTableStats I am thinking.

System Tray

I absolutely hate putting stuff into my system tray and this program also requires that. As you may be aware, the more software you have in your system tray, the more virtual memory is used, even when the software is not in use. It also slows down the boot-up process. Honeslty programmers if you are reading this... stay the FUCK out of my system tray! PCs are so goddamed slow already I don't need to be making the situation any worse.

The other MAJOR problem with this software right now is that I could not get it to work on my PC (XP) at all. The software says it needs to launch PokerStars from within, so PokerTableStats has to be running first, then I launch PokerStars. Well I was able to laucn PokerStars, but when PokeStars asked me for a buy-in, I lost all clicking ability within PokerStars. I had to close PokerTableStats and PokerStars then worked perfectly. So the software was actually interferring with my launching PokerStars, even though it said I needed to load it that.

It would not load at all after I joined a PokerStars table, even though it remained "idle" in the system tray. So a horrible start to BETA. If any of you can get this software running please let me know, because all the intructions for the software are ONLY in a foreign language which is no good to me. Even the intro language is poor English, so I think that would be something they should clean up. Does not give a new user much confidence.

Well that's all the bad news, and that is really bad.... but... I actually liked what I could see of the layout which attaches to the side of your table or on top in a vertical layout. The graphics are sharp and clean with enough contrast to sort out the data and also rather pleasing to the eye. They utilize color bars for hand strength and also M for tournament play, which is great.

This poker software can (eventually) multi-table which I was surprised to learn about.

This is not bad at all, and I am not sure how to change the layout because I actually couldn't try it, but if they get this right eventually, then good for them.

The software does NOT offer any profiling information.

So if they ever get this working properly, this could be an entry level poker odds calculator for pure beginners. To be clear, there is NO profiling data at all offered on this software so it's main function I suppose is to display odds and drawing information, which can be hand especially when multi-tabling.

Given the situation of course I am not able to test the accuracy of the calculations nor the reliability of the poker software or it's customer service. Currently it is a free download but really at this point I feel like asking them for money for wasting my time and clogging up my computer resources - at least so far.

C'mon Dudes. This is not even ready for BETA yet, and so in fairness I will only give them a rating of incomplete.

Poker software review quotes:

Online poker hasn't really been around for too long, maybe a decade or so, but as soon as it was, clever programmers were thinking about designing poker tools that could not only produce a winning edge for a player, but stretch the meaning of fair play.

Well the best poker software tools have survived an era of audacious claims made by many fly-by-nighters. Poker software like Poker Tracker, Holdem Manager and Tournament Indicator have achieved real staying and power market share largely due to following the rules set out by online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, yet they have displayed evidence of creating clear advantages for those who use the tracking software.
