Poker Stars March 2, 2011

  • Server restart in the EST AM causes incorrect VIP status changes for regular players. Players reported individual status being reduced to Bronze from Gold or even Super Nova.
  • A Stars VIP manager acknowledges error at 2+2 and says keep playing, we will fix it. By late morning, VIP Star status was reported as being corrected system wide.
  • The recent minor update also caused grief for Holdem Manager users who found themselves without a HUD on their heads-up tables. Seems Poker Stars renamed the tables to "Fast" and "Short" which may be the source of the configuration issue.

Full Tilt Poker February 28th, 2011

  • Added right click feature on opponent's avatar allowing quick view of "find this player" feature. Meaning you can see where he is playing on the site without having to go through the main menu.
  • Looks like a "Live Events" link has been added to the tournament menu. These all seem to be qualifiers to live poker tournaments.
  • There are also RUSH and ME tabs in the tournament menu as well. This will save you from having to set up your own filters or scroll through the growing variety of colors and symbols in the main tournament window.
  • Take seat option is now accesible from the main lobby for cash games. In the window that usually lists players currently seated, the empty seats are replaced with a button called "take seat". Click it and you're there.

CEREUS (Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker) February 24th, 2011
  • Made optional adjustments on pre-action buttons, while simplifying fold selections.
  • Auto selection of "wait for big blind"
  • Removed option for auto-post blinds. This is now standard. What the hell took them so long?

Poker software review quotes:

Online poker hasn't really been around for too long, maybe a decade or so, but as soon as it was, clever programmers were thinking about designing online poker software tools that could not only produce a winning edge for a player, but stretch the meaning of fair play.

Well the best poker software tools have survived an era of audacious claims made by many fly-by-nighters. Poker software like Poker Tracker, Holdem Manager and Tournament Indicator have achieved real staying and power market share largely due to following the rules set out by online poker rooms such as Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars, yet they have displayed evidence of creating clear advantages for those who use the tracking software.
